Note: Timesheets must be signed by the onsite supervisor to approve payment to the candidate.
When is Pay Day?
The Pay Week Runs from Monday – Sunday. Candidate’s pays are processed on Wednesday Night and is made available in your bank account from Thursday morning (depending on your financial institution). To ensure there is no delay in payment, all candidates must have completed all registration paperwork – including bank account and taxation details prior to commencing work for Grunt Labour Services.
Note: Head Office Central Payroll work to deadlines to suit our candidate’s financial institutions. Late times received at the branches past Thursday evening will not guarantee payment in the current week.
Superannuation
Employee superannuation is paid in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee legislation.
Insurances
All candidates employed as contractors, are required to pay Public Liability Insurance. This is calculated at 1.2% of Gross Payments.
In addition to the Public Liability Insurance, all Northern Territory contractors are also required to have Personal Accident & Sickness Cover. This insurance is calculated at 2.6% of Gross Payments. This insurance entitles a contractor to claim salary for any lost days due to Personal Accident or Sickness (excess applies).

Payment Summaries
Payment Summaries are generally issued at the end of each financial year. If you require your payment summary earlier as you are leaving the country and no longer working for Grunt Labour Services, you can email your request to info@gruntlabour.com stating your full name, date of birth and details of where you would like the payment summary forwarded to (must be an Australian Postal Address or fax number). Please allow for 2 weeks for the request to be processed.
Changing my details
Personal details such as postal address and phone numbers can be changed through the website or the nearest Grunt Labour Services branch. Bank details can only be changed by visiting the nearest branch and completing an appropriate bank details form .Updating this information will ensure that your weekly payment is prompt and goes into the correct account. Pay slips and payment summaries are forwarded to you as quickly as possible.
Privacy Act
When registering with Grunt Labour Services, you will be required to provide specific information such as your name, address, telephone number. We may request further information such as interests, previous employment history and references. In providing this information you consent for Grunt Labour Services to use and disclose your information for the purpose of ascertaining your suitability for employment opportunities, to perform reference checks with past employers, to discuss matters with prospective employers and to forward any relevant information which we are compelled by law to disclose.
What action should I take if I cannot attend an assignment?
Always make contact will your consultant prior to the assignment commencement time, this will give the consultant an opportunity to inform the client and if necessary find a replacement.
What action should I take if I am running late to meet my assignment start time?
Always make contact with your consultant to inform your estimated time of arrival, this will give the consultant the opportunity to immediately make contact with the client to explain the reason for being late and give estimation on your arrival time.
What action should I take if I do not like the assignment?
Where possible complete the assignment for the day and then immediately contact your consultant to express your reason for disliking the workplace environment, work colleagues, location etc.
Note: Under no circumstances should you walk off site without notifying your consultant of your intended action.
What action should I take if the client offers me a full time position with their company?
If you are interested in accepting the position, it is essential you discuss the opportunity with your consultant. At no time will we as company restrict your future , because you are placed on an assignment Grunt Labour Services or GPS “Navigating people” we would appreciate the courtesy of a call to inform us of your plans.
What action should I take if I have concerns regarding Occupational Heath and Safety in the workplace?
It is essential you make contact with both your immediate supervisor on
site and your consultant. Communicate your concerns to both parties. The
immediate supervisor and consultant will follow their obligation under
the workplace Health and Safety act.
The consultant will then confirm the best course of action.
What action should I take if I have an accident on site?
Where an injury has occurred it is essential you advise your immediate supervisor or first aid officer, have the injury treated and record the nature of the injury. The next step is to inform your consultant or the company National Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator on 07 3279 7000.
What action should be taken if I was being harassed in the workplace?
Immediately contact your consultant to communicate your concerns and where possible take notes of the incident. Your consultant will inform you of the correct course of action.
